Have you seen this new pattern by Carina Spencer? It's extremely cool. You begin working as a traditional triangle shawl and then join for knitting in the round, eliminating the annoying shawl points when wearing draped around the neck.

The pattern has instructions for both sport and worsted weight versions. I chose to knit up a sport weight version using The Wool Dispensary Useful Restorative, which is a super squishy100% superwash merino wool dyed up by Sam (mercourier on Ravelry).

Lizard Boy (the green pictured) is one of my current color obsessions. Bright and deep verdant preparing me for spring showers, green grasses and flowers! A perfect choice for this transitional piece, aptly named 'petals'.

Featured FO: 9crafty11's Scalloped Shawl

Continuing with the FO parade, today I'm sharing a punchy scalloped shawl, created by 9crafty11.

This beauty was knit using Malabrigo Sock in Alaucil and Archangel.

Boy is that Archangel colorway gorgeous! Thanks for sharing, 9crafty11!

by mercourier The second Roscoe Village Hat FO was knit by Sam (mercourier on Ravelry - and the genius behind The Wool Dispensary). Sam knit her RV Hat out of Malabrigo Merino Worsted in Tortuga.

Tortuga and I go way back ;) I just love the lighting in Sam's photos.

I'm so flattered by the recent Indie Designer Revisited profile from Canary Knits.

Teresa (Canary Knits) runs a great blog - you should definitely check it out! Also, I'm loving her extremely specific boards on Pinterest. If you're into Pinterest, then you know that specificity is key in keeping tidy, relevant pin collections!

Here's an excerpt:

I think it's so cool that, over a relatively short period of time, people can create such wonderful bodies of work...

...There's really quite a lot to talk about, but I'll limit myself to just one more knit: the Anna Cowl. This is a long, delicate and lacy accessory; just the right amount of lace, mind you. US 10, 16” or 24” circular needles, or size needed to attain gauge

2 skeins of The Wool Dispensary Imperial Poison (shown in Tightrope)

Approximately 1.5 skeins used for this pattern.

1 Stitch Marker

Tapestry Needle

Gauge (After Blocking):

16 sts = 4” in 1x1 rib stitch and Fir Cone Lace stitch

Finished Measurements (After Blocking):

32” circumference; 13.5” height

Knitting Astrology by Canary Knits

This month, the Canary Knits blog has been featuring a series of posts entitled "Knit-Strology; Or, Extrapolations Based on General and Specific Nonsense".

Saturday's post featured Gemini, which is my astrological sign. I'm not one to "buy in" to things like this, but I've always found the typical Gemini description to fit my personality pretty well.

Canary Knits' post is no exception:

"Gemini love change, freedom, independence and communication. When you do show up for knit nights (sorry, you can be flighty! things don't always hold your attention for very long), you're the one to ask for advice. What should I knit for my impossible-to-knit-for brother? Will this variegated yarn compliment my hair colour?"
